Sutton wore his first Texas tux and has loved Friday night lights as a ball boy for the varsity Scots. Travis and I had our first movie date in months and attended a concert with friends that took us back to our college days. We decorated for Christmas and pulled out the Christmas pajamas for Ruby. I took a quick trip to Philadelphia for work and loved my history lesson at Valley Forge. Ella rowed two regattas and enjoyed every minute—even the cold ones. Birthday #6 for Ruby and #17 for Ella. A special chef’s tasting to celebrate. And finally, our Gracie came home for a week, and we hosted both sides of the family for Thanksgiving—while helping my mama through an unexpected 12-day hospital stay. She’s now recovering, and we are so grateful. I’m counting my blessings and looking forward to a delightful December.

October photo recap.

This month was calmer, as we’ve fallen into a new routine as a family of four. My heart can in fact handle it 🥰. We dressed up the porch with pumpkins, walked Ruby for hours in mostly gorgeous weather, watched Sutton play football and Ella row crew, welcomed Gracie home for fall break with her favorite pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, enjoyed family lunch before she headed back to Auburn, changed out wallpaper (and finally checked it off the to-do list), experienced HoCo, spent an evening with Ina, and cooked an incredible meal with our special dinner club friends. I am grateful.

From the incredible architecture to the refined interiors to the world’s greatest breakfast buffet to the Michelin star Alici restaurant to the private beach club—this place has it all. It was the perfect home base for our adventures in Amalfi, Positano, and Capri. Although we enjoyed exploring, we really didn’t want to leave the hotel—it was that good. The Borgo staff made us feel so special, and we cannot wait to return. September photo recap.

This month flew by. It’s been so fun watching Sutton’s first season of high school football during Thursday night lights. We our first Auburn Family Weekend, even if it rained the entire time. And we ended with a celebratory trip 20 years in the making. From Lake Como, to Naples, to Pompeii, to the Amalfi Coast, to Rome—we made so many memories and had a blast. Now, looking forward to a calmer October and hopefully, cooler temperatures.
