Friday Four

Happy Friday, friends. I’m kicking off what I hope will be a weekly series–the Friday Four. These are four things that brought me joy this week and might do the same for you.

ONE: After taking down my Christmas wreath on Sunday, I replaced it with my favorite tulip wreath. I purchased it in 2017 and after sharing on The Joyful Home, it quickly became a follower favorite. My original wreath got damaged during our move in 2020, and I was thrilled to be able to purchase a new one.

It is full and beautiful and adds the perfect pop of pink. It’s also available in a pink and white version and a pink, orange and yellow version.

TWO: Trader Joe’s snacks. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me share some of my favorite TJ’s snacks on Tuesday. My cousin recently had a baby, and I took her lunch, dinner, and a collection of my family’s “must have” TJ’s snacks.

Soon, I’ll share a complete list of our TJ’s essentials. I’ve shared it with friends over the years, but recently added some new things I think you’ll love.

THREE: The iPhone Reminders app. I use this several times a day, every day to stay organized and remember all the things I’d otherwise forget. Here are some of my lists:

Throughout the day, I’ll tell Siri:

  • Add ___ to my grocery list (or Costco/Trader Joe’s list)
  • Remind me to ask Travis about _____ tonight at 6:30 (this gets added to my To Do list)
  • Remind me to schedule a doctor’s appointment on Friday at 2:00
  • Add ___ to my To Eat list

You can share your lists and set up recurring reminders for things like “water my plants” and “replace water filters.” I really don’t know how I survived without it. Try it and let me know what you think!

FOUR: Spanx. Not the OG/compression Spanx you’re thinking of. The new-ish, crazy soft Spanx loungewear.

I’ve worn the flare pants twice this week (once to the office–they look very office-appropriate when worn with a button-down and/or sweater). The wide leg pants and sweatshirts are my go-to for evening and weekend relaxing. If you missed Wednesday’s post about these and my other winter favorites, go back and take a peek.

We’re expecting freezing temps in Texas on Sunday through Tuesday, so my family and I will be hunkered down, eating chili, and watching movies (and football). My kids are hoping for snow and ice and a school cancellation, and I hope to sneak in some reading and a puzzle.

I’ll see you back here on Monday with a delicious new soup recipe you won’t want to miss.
