Happy Friday, friends! It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Four, and I’m glad to be back. Here are four things that brought me joy this week. ONE: Spring break. Okay, so technically, this was last week, but the good memories continue. For Gracie’s senior spring break, we headed to beautiful Turks & Caicos with her best friends and their moms. We stayed a the Beaches resort—my first all-inclusive in many years. We were all impressed! We spent our days laying around the pool, enjoying pina coladas, reading, relaxing, and chatting. It was nice to have very little on our agenda. Oh, and if you need a good…

Happy Friday! I feel like this week just flew by, and I’m in disbelief that March is just around the corner. Spring tends to move quickly in our house—three kids means so many activities. My daughter is graduating from high school in May, and I’m drying to delight in every moment with her and our family of five. If you’re new here, the Friday Four is a weekly series where I share four things that brought me joy this week. ONE: Fresh flowers. I love fresh flowers, and I keep them on my kitchen island all year. On Sunday, I snagged some $8 tulips from Costco. I buy these every…

Happy Friday, friends! I hope you had a good week. This week was unusual because I had a work trip mid-week. Pre-Covid, I traveled frequently and am so glad those days are over. Thankfully, our calendar is pretty clear this weekend, and I’m looking forward to catching up on family time. Before we get to that, here are some things that brought me joy this week. ONE: Valentine’s Day. Because I was out of town, we celebrated the day before with a restaurant-style dinner, and it was DELICIOUS. On the menu: simple seared scallops, a warm spinach and corn salad, mushroom risotto, and baked chocolate pudding. The risotto and chocolate…

Happy Friday, friends! We have a full weekend ahead. My son has an end-of-season basketball tournament tomorrow. Then, we have a dinner with friends and Super Bowl party on Sunday. I’m traveling for work next week, so will prep early for our Valentine’s dinner. Before all of that, here are four things that brought me joy this week and might do the same for you. ONE: How do you wash your sweaters? Years ago, I stopped dry cleaning mine because it was expensive and I hated the chemical smell. I’ve been handwashing them, but recently a friend shared her method. I tried it this week and was blown away. Here’s…

Happy Friday! In today’s Friday Four, I’m sharing four things that brought me joy this week and might do the same for you. ONE: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. I love celebrating my people, and one of our traditions is to have a special Valentine’s dinner. When my kids were younger, I would make them an early dinner of spaghetti and meatballs or heart-shaped buttered noodles with strawberries cut into hearts and a fun dessert. After we put them to bed, my husband and I would stay up late cooking our own special meal. Now, we have a big family dinner and try to make it special. This…

How was your week, friends? We are having a lovely time in Santa Barbara and are headed to Montecito for the day. I’m hoping for a celebrity sighting, a little shopping, and more sunshine before we head home to Dallas. In today’s Friday Four, I’m sharing four things that brought me joy this week and might do the same for you. ONE: I love birthday trips. I didn’t grow up traveling much, so I don’t take a single second for granted. If you missed Wednesday’s post, go back to read about my favorite travel essentials. Last year, we went to Charleston. It is one of my favorite places to spend…

What a fast week! After the snow days, the week flew by, and I can’t believe it’s time for another Friday Four. Here are four things that brought me joy this week and might do the same for you. ONE: I’m hosting a small party tomorrow night, which means I made a visit to Trader Joe’s to get everything I need to make beautiful charcuterie boards. I love entertaining, but to keep things simple, I stick with charcuterie boards because they don’t require any cooking and can be prepped mostly in advance. To prevent people from crowing around a single board, I like to make several different boards and spread…

Happy Friday, friends. I’m kicking off what I hope will be a weekly series–the Friday Four. These are four things that brought me joy this week and might do the same for you. ONE: After taking down my Christmas wreath on Sunday, I replaced it with my favorite tulip wreath. I purchased it in 2017 and after sharing on The Joyful Home, it quickly became a follower favorite. My original wreath got damaged during our move in 2020, and I was thrilled to be able to purchase a new one. It is full and beautiful and adds the perfect pop of pink. It’s also available in a pink and white…
